Michael's Trading Room Summary
APR 17, 2024 AM
MAG7 - Yesterday this gapped down to the bottom of the daily channel; Still above the 50-day & this morning we have gapped up towards the 20-day MA but are still inside yesterdays range.
Weighted Dollar / Yields Ratio - Hit 310 yesterday before fading back; Still around the 305 area. Expecting 350 before the current drama is done.
IWF:IWD - Above the daily MA's (50, 20, 10) but still sideways & chopping around the 1.93 area.
INTERMARKET
T2100 - bounced up this morning. Bullish short term.
T2104 - minor buying; but NOTHING really. Nothing here really ...
T2123 - sitting on the 10-week.
WTI CRUDE - Seems to be testing the lower end of the daily range; 84 getting tested this morning from above.
GOLD (futures) - Closed Doji yesterday; so far this morning premarket we are Doji again. Still holding the daily range under 2400.
Nat Gas - up premarket but still within the daily range under 2.00
Bit Coin - Down again premarket; looks to be testing 62K from above. 60k likely the next level lower; "half"ing happens this week.
FX
Dollar (DXY) - Holding under 106.50; likely we would see markets react if this did get & stay above 106.50.
USDJPY - 154.75 tested; this continues to test the highs & press for more. Still a threat. 155 & 165 would not surprise Sam.
The BOJ-10Y likekly goes to 1.00% (if 0.80 to 1.00).
BONDS
TLT - Closed yesterday higher then where it opened; this morning it's gapped completely outside of yesterdays range (higher). Still under 89 daily. BOND BULLS MUST DEFEND HERE...
TNX - Getting / staying above 4.688% likely brings panic with it. Rejected that high yesterday and is now closer to 4.62%. Need this to roll over for equities to move higher.
ZN (10Y) - came into 107-1/2 area before turning higher again; still chopping
ZT (2Y) - came into 101-1/2 area before turning higher again; still chopping
INDEX
SPX - Has to get above 5080 for a cont push higher for a gap fill into 5192.50.
SPY - 503.50 was PT & we hit it; a little bounce now needs to get above the 3-day.
QQQ - 430 PT has been hit; expecting a bounce before moving lower into the next PT at 425
VIX - The expiry today "should" help the indexes bounce (SPY / QQQ). Weekend risk likely reappears after the options expiry Friday. Above 19.29 is market bearish. Below that we could have a broader market bounce.
SVXY - attempting a breakout of yesterdays range; no follow-through yet.
CHASE
ASML below 927 can head down to 900, 889
DAL above 48 can attempt to test 50 sideways so far
NKE - 94.63 tagged, some digestion here first then has a gapfill to 98
QQQ 430.2 pivot fails we could see 425
TSLA - below 155 can see 150,146.41
XME approaching 63.5 then 66.6
QCOM below 167.4 next is 164
HONORABLE MENTIONS
CAREFUL insurance & insurance brokers & things like that. (KIE - for example).
ARM - roll over. Testing the 55-day MA. Broke the 10-week & the 55-day MA. Extended intraday.
ASML - earnings roll-ver. Looks like a good short. $888.72 weekly support. Pushed under the 55-day MA. 889 PT. Stay below the 55-day
CPNG - tagged 22.50 & rejected;
CRUS - looks weak.
GBTC - on double support; if that does not support then it is really really weak
GS - still like this short; looking for rejection from oversold bounce.
HCC - very good looking chart. Weekly "scoop" pattern.
JBHT - Rejected 218 weekly; been chopping grinding lower since. Now under the 200 & 55 day MA's. May see a possible bounce around 165 weekly; long above 168 hourly
MSTR - still a great short.
MARA - looks to be the most oversold.
MRVL - going back to the 200-day MA would not surprise. Looks good.
NKE - great job. 94.63 tagged, some digestion here first then has a gapfill to 98
NVDA - break 860 for 823PT.
PLCE - looks like drama.
RMBS - looks soggy;
SMCI - 994.44 hourly resistance; 1077.80 daily is likely the place this rejects (thats PT)
TRV - stay above 208 hourly for bulls; 198.35 if we break below.
TSLA - 155 weekly support; 400-EMA weekly is the next lower PT (the 150 area weekly). Could overshoot into 136.68 weekly. Monthly support at 120 area. Still a mess. Break 153.88 for a move into daily gap fill 146.41 next PT. Oh YA; that is going to get tagged.
TMDX - an Alex play; looks supported above 90$ daily. 94 weekly. PT 100.00$.
UAL - stay above 44.20 if bullish. This is giving the others in this space a lift; still don't like it. DAL is the best looking of the airlines but it's still sideways.
USB - moving into 200-day MA from above.
WSM - still above the 55-day; rolling over. Looks like a nice short; stay below 292.40.
WPM - just wow; less violent miner.
XME - still see this as swing long.
