Rithika's Chase Summary
IMPORTANT: SVXY below 113 = VIX can move higher + markets pull back.
I didn't expect the semi bounce this morning to 'take'.
I also don't expect the precious metal profit taking to last.
Pretty slow start to the new quarter
Yields have the market soggy
Nasdaq under the surface breadth is shaky whole NYSE breadth is green
VIX needs above 13.85 for more volatility
DXY almost into 105 resistance
Growth value having a little bit of a bounce but bigger picture a bounce
Sam still likes silver and miners after this digestion move for higher
Oil is getting bid
BIDU needs above 109 for 112, may 29 calls coming in
AGI digesting here after it breaks 14.95 next is 16.35
GOOGL needs to hold above 155 for 160
MRVL over 73.53 pushes to gap fill to 75.38 stop: 72.8
NXE getting nov 10$ call flow
TSLA below 173 hit 170 below that we have 167
XOM has September 130 calls coming in
VKTX hasn't gotten over the 88.75, could get profit taking below 77 into 68 if it breaks
Michael's Trading Room Summary
APR 1, 2024 AM
Low Volumes expected today due to Europe Markets closed today for Easter. Powell suggested in an interview Friday that keeping rates "high for longer" is likely going to be the theme. Waller has flipped and turned dove strongly. Lot's of fed speakers this week.
MAG7 - Last week we faded into the 20-day MA which seems to have acted as a minor support (until it doesn't) with price this morning gapped up above the 10-day MA. MACD daily still above zero but the MACD line is mixed with the signal line so nothing clear from that.
Weighted Dollar / Yields Ratio - 280 / 270 channel; daily chop. Friday closed strong - near the high of the daily session.
IWF:IWD - Tues, Wed & Thursday all closed red - bringing price into a 100-day MA but we seem to have boused off that level with a gap up this morning completely outside Fridays range... still within the gap created from Thursday's close & Fridays open. MACD daily still under zero and the MACD line has crossed under the signal line. Still under the 50, 20, and 10-day MA's.
Intermarket
T2104 - slight "net selling" in the hourly but not heavy.
T2123 - Still green; Bull market continues
WTI Crude - Still seems like it wants to get that 84.00$ daily; gapped up & outside of Fridays candle. "policy intervention" - above 83 is bullish & that's where we are at. 85 next PT.
GOLD (futures) - new highs; holding above 2250 daily. "above 2223 it's bullish..." the end. Should see a pause when London comes back on line; looks like it wants to come back into 2223.
Nat Gas - strong breakout but still has a lot of levels over-head to deal with.
Bit Coin - still range bound daily; 69k to 72k. MACD still above zero; but MACD line under the zero line.
FX
Dollar (DXY) - MACD daily above zero- MACD line bullish above the signal line. 105 daily resistance & 103 daily minor support. Likely hits resistance there. Baseline - still bearish dollar. No worries unless this gets above 105$ daily.
USDJPY - MACD daily above zero- MACD line bullish above the signal line. 152 / 150 channel; tight daily range.
GBPUSD - could tangle at the 200-day.
USDCHF - strong pop
Bonds
TLT - big gap down under 93.50 daily - nearly giving back last weeks gains. MACD still under zero but the MACD line has crossed above the signal line. Baseline - still bearish bonds.
TNX - 4.37 daily resistance; firmer. Still making daily HL's. Likely get rejected at 4.5%
ZN (10Y) - still soggy. Still expecting a gap fill (lower)
ZT (2Y) - still soggy. Still expecting a gap fill (lower)
Index
SPX - Still have 5340 yearly PT. Needs to get above 5261 for a cont move into 5300 then 5340 area. Breaking 5250 hourly is ... pullback.
QQQ - still buying under the surface - but some weakness in the price. Stay under 450
SVXY - red; not compelling. (has a split coming soon). kinda a volatility day.
