Market Is Still Nervous
Can We Price In 100+K Government Job Losses Yet?
The House voted tonight to end the 43-day shutdown but White House says October’s jobs and inflation reports will never be released.
So how does Fed decide on rates December 10th without the data upon which they are dependent???
House Passes Spending Bill to End Record US Government Shutdown
A six-week standoff between President Donald Trump and congressional Democrats that disrupted flights and delayed food aid is set to end after the House passed a temporary funding bill 222 to 209 Wednesday evening. Most Democrats opposed the measure because it excludes their key demand to renew expiring Affordable Care Act subsidies. The White House said Trump will sign the spending package Wednesday night, formally ending the shutdown.
Could it be this exercise of cancelling the October payroll figures and jobless claims is to hide the 100K+ early retirement govt jobs that expired Sept 30th?
YES is a complete sentence.
Luckily, we should still be able to figure out November level of federal govt payroll employment - but after the fact. Just not sure if it will be before the FOMC.
Until then, market marches on oblivious.
Speaking of oblivious market…
